Leaderboard places_
The strip at the top of the home page shows the three highest scores on Chapa. This page explains exactly how those three are chosen.
Who can appear
Only people who signed in to Chapa. A badge can be rendered for any developer on any supported platform, so the score records alone would include people who never chose to be here. Placement uses the sign-in record instead, which nobody else can create for you.
Only current scores
A profile must have been scored in the last 30 days. A profile that stops being scored leaves the board. The board is a standing, not a record: your best score in the past does not hold a place.
Which number is compared
The number on your badge, exactly as your badge draws it. Chapa keeps a second, smoothed number for the trend line on your profile, and that one is never used here, so the board can never disagree with your badge.
Ties
A place is a score, not a person. Everyone on 80 shares first place and is listed together, and the next score down is second. Names inside a place are alphabetical, which means nothing: nobody in a place is ahead of anybody else.
How often it changes
The standings are rebuilt every hour. A score that changed a few minutes ago can take up to an hour to move the board.
How the score itself is calculated
Placement compares scores. The score itself is explained in the scoring methodology.
